Super Pizza World is a community cookbook bringing together over 50 contributors in the name of pizza and supportign community causes in Chicago. A side project from Crust Fund Pizza, all proceeds of the cookbook through its inital run and its follow-up print runs sold through Buddy Chicago goes directly to various nonprofit organizations throughout the city.
Drawing inspiration from a wide variety of ephemera, over 70 illustrations were created to anchor the start of each recipe to reinforce the authorial voice..
To celebrate the motley range of aesthetics used, patchworked collages leveraging visual elements from all the recipe illustrations within, informed the cover, front matter, and marketing direction.
While the general layout direction was inspired by community cookbooks of yesteryear, thoughtful moments to bend and break the typographic system were embraced to further heighten the intent of the content.
The cookbook was organized into six chapters, each with their own visual identity, to continue the editorial thread from cover to cover.
